Let's not panic!

I have been feeling a bit under the weather: sore throat, weak. Last night I woke up gasping for air. Probably I was having a nightmare, but as you can imagine, my first thought was "that's it, I've got Corondvirus". How easy it is to be influenced and to panic when you hear horrible news coming from every corner! I want to tell you a little story that hopefully helps you thinking in a healthier direction:

"Once a traveller met the Death on the road to the city. ⁃ where are you going? - asked the traveller. ⁃I want to pick up 5,000 people - answers the Death. A year later they've met again on the same road. - You lied, you said you would take 5,000 people, and you took 50,000! - said the traveller. ⁃ No, - said Death, - I told the truth. I've taken my 5, 000 people and the others died from fear."

Let's not panic and be mindful of our own mental state. Here are some practical tips helping not to fall into depression: 1) You are not alone! There many people around from family, friends, and neighbours that are happy to help. Reach out, at least pick up the phone. 2) Force yourself into thinking that what you have is a temporary difficulty. It's not the end of the world, and even the most horrible things come to an end. 3) You are not the only one experiencing the same. Try to find comfort knowing your situation is not unique, and the universe is not targeting you. 4) Put aside the difficult tasks and start from smaller ones that are easier to achieve. 5) Do at least one thing that is important to you. Don't postpone it. Enjoy the result, and reward yourself for it. 6) Try not to go into self-pity, it's harder to get out of this state, just be conscious. It helps thinking that everything in this life happens for a reason, and if you don't see it now, you will realise it later. You are strong, amazing people with incredible potential. If you are feeling down, don't hide and reach out! I still have a couple of free spaces for those who really need it. #depressionhelp #panic #mentalhealth #london #essex #lifecoach#healthnews
